Twenty years. One simple idea.

I've been around computers since I was four years old. Not because anyone made me — I just couldn't leave them alone. My dad encouraged it, and he left me one word I've carried ever since: Perseverance. He isn't around to see it any more, but everything I build carries that word.

The first website I ever built was for a business consultancy in Grimsby. I had no idea what I was doing — but I landed the job, figured it out, and the site went live. I was hooked. Twenty years on, I still get that thrill when something I build starts working for someone else's business.

The craft took years to get good at — the tools break, the problems bite, and patience beats cleverness every time. Perseverance turned out to be the job description. And I still love it: websites, coding, data — I decide on data, not hunches. When I tell you your site will be fast, it isn't an opinion. I've measured it.

Along the way, I noticed the industry I love has a habit of overcomplicating things: five-page websites become fourteen-week “digital journeys”, quotes hide behind discovery calls, and small business owners end up needing a translator — and paying monthly for the privilege. I never believed it had to be that way. Twenty years in, I decided to prove it.

So here's the whole philosophy, no fluff:

1. Keep it simple.
2. Do it properly.
3. Finish fast.

If a feature doesn't win you work, it's decoration — and decoration costs you time and money.
